Without concurrently working to strengthen the foundational architecture that supports global gender equality efforts, it will be exceedingly difficult to resist the threats to progress and to generate new momentum.
Through Project Phoenix, the Arch Collaborative is developing a set of actionable recommendations for six domains forming a strategic vision of the global gender equality scaffolding: 1) multilateral platforms and mechanisms; 2) financing strategies; 3) data systems and platforms; 4) narratives and messaging; 5) technology; and 6) organizational mechanisms.
Our work on the data systems and platforms domain is developing actionable, system-wide recommendations spanning the entire gender data value chain—from data collection and analysis to dissemination, translation, and use—not for incremental improvement, but for systemic transformation.
